FAAC welding and fabrication work in Las Vegas typically runs $250 to $700 installed, depending on whether we’re reinforcing a cracked hinge mount, rebuilding a bent gate leaf, or fabricating a replacement bracket from scratch. We stock raw steel, aluminum, and the jigs for common FAAC swing and slide gate frame repairs on our trucks, and most jobs are done in a single visit. You’ll usually find out this is your problem when the gate starts sagging, dragging, or making a grinding sound while the opener itself still runs fine. The opener often isn’t the failure point. It’s the metal around it.
We run into this constantly across Las Vegas. FAAC openers are built well, but the welded steel frames, hinge plates, and mounting brackets they push against take a beating from wind, dust, and the sheer weight of a gate cycling hundreds of times a week. When the metal gives out, the opener gets blamed. It’s usually the fabrication that failed first.
- Typical installed price: $250 to $700
- Most common fixes: hinge re-welding, bracket fabrication, frame straightening
- Availability: most parts matched same day from our Las Vegas stock
- Guarantee: written price before work, 365-Day Done Right Promise on every repair
Which FAAC Models This Applies To
We weld and fabricate for FAAC swing gate operators across the 400, 750, S800, and C720 series, plus the slide gate models like the S450H and S700H. The operator model matters less than the metal it’s bolted to. What we need to know is the gate’s construction: steel or aluminum, hollow tube or solid bar, and how the hinge posts are anchored. That tells us what rod or wire to load in the welder and whether we need to reinforce the post while we’re at it.
A key compatibility gotcha with FAAC gates in Las Vegas: many are European-import frames with thinner wall tubing than what American gate builders typically use. We see 16-gauge European steel that’s rotted through at the bottom rail after five or six years of contact with desert alkaline soil. If you’re not sure what gauge your gate is, you can measure the tube width, but the honest answer is it’s worth having us look. A micrometer and a magnet tell us in about ten seconds whether that frame is worth saving or smarter to sleeve and reinforce.
On the OEM vs aftermarket question: FAAC doesn’t sell many weld-on frame parts as standalone OEM items. Their brackets, hinge plates, and mounting bases are embedded in larger kits. So for fabrication work, quality aftermarket steel and aluminum, cut and welded to the original geometry, is usually the better route. We match material thickness and weld specification to the existing frame, not to a box on a shelf.

Signs Your FAAC Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags visibly at the latch end. This means a hinge weld has cracked or the hinge post itself is bending. The opener’s pushing against misaligned geometry, which wears out the motor and limit switch fast.
- You hear a scraping or grinding sound when the gate moves. Usually the bottom rail dragging across uneven concrete or a warped frame. With Las Vegas heat cycling expanding and contracting steel daily, small warps turn into full drag issues.
- The gate jerks or shakes during operation. Cracked welds or a frame that’s rusted from the inside leave the gate flexing under load. The FAAC operator senses the uneven resistance and starts stopping mid-cycle.
- Hinge bolts keep loosening no matter how many times you tighten them. The holes have wallowed out or the plate behind them is cracked. Re-tightening is temporary. The fix is welding a thicker plate or re-drilling and sleeving.
- Rust streaks or flaking at the bottom corners. Water and alkaline Las Vegas soil wick up into the frame from the bottom. By the time you see the rust on the outside, the lower rail is often paper-thin on the inside.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Most FAAC welding and fabrication work in Las Vegas lands between $250 and $700 installed. A simple hinge re-weld with a reinforcement gusset runs $250 to $350. Rebuilding a bottom rail or fabricating a new hinge plate goes $400 to $550. Straightening a twisted gate frame and adding cross-bracing falls in the $500 to $700 range. The spread comes down to steel thickness, how much of the frame is compromised, and whether we need to remove the gate leaf to do it properly on a flat surface.
Every price is written down before we fire up the welder. Your invoice matches that number. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work: if the weld fails or the fabrication shifts within a year, we return and make it right at no charge. That’s not a verbal promise. It’s in writing on the job sheet.
| Job Type | Typical Installed Price |
|---|---|
| Hinge re-weld with reinforcement gusset | $250 – $350 |
| Fabricate new hinge plate or bracket | $400 – $550 |
| Frame straightening with cross-bracing | $500 – $700 |
| Complete bottom rail rebuild | $550 – $700 |
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things safely before calling: run your hand along the bottom rail to feel for rust flakes, look at the hinge welds with a flashlight for hairline cracks, and push the gate gently by hand when it’s disconnected to feel for resistance. Those checks tell us a lot about what we’re walking into.
What we don’t recommend is DIY welding on a gate that’s still attached to a powered opener. Welding current can travel through the frame into the control board and fry it. High heat near the hinge posts can warp the alignment you’re trying to save. And if that gate is under tension from a sagging frame, cutting a weld without supporting the leaf can drop several hundred pounds of steel on you. We know, because Nico Alvarez has been called to fix more than one DIY weld that made the original problem worse and the new problem a lot more expensive. Tell me what it’s doing – or not doing – and we’ll figure the rest out from there.
If you’re in Las Vegas and the gate’s down, call (725) 220-0280. We’ll diagnose it straight, give you a written price, and usually have it welded and swinging the same day.
FAQs
With good steel and proper drainage, a well-fabricated gate frame lasts 15 to 20 years in Las Vegas. The biggest killers here are alkaline soil wicking moisture into the bottom rails and the constant heat-and-cool cycle that fatigues welds around the hinge points. But a poorly done weld on thin stock can fail within two years, which is why we match material thickness and weld spec to the existing frame rather than patching over the problem. Call (725) 220-0280 and we’ll tell you honestly whether your frame is worth saving.
Most cracked welds can be repaired if the surrounding metal is still sound, and that’s the first thing we check with a grinder and a pick. The difference between a repair and a replacement is how much of the surrounding steel is thinned by rust or stress fractures. If the crack is isolated, we grind it out, weld it with proper filler, and add a gusset plate so it doesn’t recrack in the same spot. If the rail is compromised, we replace the section. We’ll show you what we find before we weld anything, and the price is already in writing.
Most welding and fabrication repairs on a FAAC gate take two to four hours on site, including grinding, welding, cooling, and re-aligning the opener’s travel limits afterward. The weld itself only takes minutes, but proper prep and letting the steel cool before re-connecting the opener is what makes it last. We schedule it as a half-day job and give you a live arrival time, not a four-hour window. Call (725) 220-0280 for a free estimate.
We don’t stock FAAC-branded frame parts as separate OEM items because FAAC sells them inside larger kits, not as standalone weld-on pieces. What we do stock is raw steel and aluminum plate, tube, and angle iron in the thicknesses FAAC gates use, so we can fabricate a replacement bracket or hinge plate on the spot. For the opener internals themselves, we carry parts for FAAC and other major brands like LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls. If you need a bracket today, we can usually have it cut, drilled, and welded before the end of the day. Call (725) 220-0280 and describe the part – we’ll tell you in five minutes what we can do.
