We stock and install Elite-compatible keypads and intercom parts across Las Vegas, with most keypad replacements running $145 – $260 installed and intercom repairs typically landing between $180 – $320 depending on whether we’re replacing the handset, the board, or the wiring. If your Elite keypad has gone dark or your intercom crackles more than it talks, we can usually have the part matched and replaced same day. Most Las Vegas owners discover the failure the hard way: they punch in the code, hear nothing click, and then spend five minutes waving their phone at the gate hoping for a different result. The good news is this is one of the most predictable repairs we do, and the parts are almost always on our truck.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite gate openers use a few distinct keypad and intercom families, and matching the part to your exact model matters more than most people realize. The main compatibility split is between the EL-Series swing and slide gate openers (EL-200, EL-300, EL-500) and the older AP-Series residential units that Las Vegas neighborhoods like Summerlin and Green Valley are full of. The keypads aren’t interchangeable between those two lines even though the housings look nearly identical from across the driveway. On the intercom side, you’re usually looking at either a wired analog handset connected to the opener’s accessory terminal block, or a newer wireless unit paired to a receiver board inside the operator housing.
Here’s the gotcha we see constantly: Elite OEM parts from early-2010s units share connectors with later models but the pinouts are reversed on the ribbon cable. If you or a previous tech swapped a keypad without checking the board revision, the keypad can light up and still refuse to talk to the control board. We carry both OEM Elite parts and quality aftermarket equivalents, and we’ll always tell you which one makes sense. Aftermarket is fine for keypads and basic handsets. For the intercom base board and anything that decodes signal encryption, OEM is worth the extra money because the aftermarket boards frequently lose programming in Las Vegas heat cycles.

Signs Your Elite Keypad & Intercom Repair Is Failing
- Keypad lights up but won’t accept the code. This is almost always a failed membrane or a broken trace on the keypad PCB. When the membrane cracks from UV exposure and heat, the buttons stop closing the circuit reliably. The fix is a new keypad assembly, not a reprogramming session.
- Intermittent entry after rain or sprinkler overspray. Las Vegas gets maybe four real rain days a year, but the dry heat followed by sudden moisture is brutal on unsealed keypad seams. Corrosion builds on the contact points inside and the keypad works only when it feels like it.
- Intercom hums or buzzes constantly. That’s a failing capacitor on the intercom board or a grounding issue where the cable enters the pedestal. Ignoring it doesn’t fix anything; the hum is the part telling you it’s actively degrading.
- Call button rings inside but you can’t hear anyone outside. The microphone element in the external call station is dead. Some owners mistake this for a speaker problem and replace the wrong component. We test both sides before ordering anything.
- Gate opens on its own or won’t respond after pressing the intercom button. This is usually a stuck relay on the intercom board or a shorted wire in the underground run. It can also masquerade as a keypad issue, which is why we trace the wiring rather than guessing.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Las Vegas, an Elite keypad replacement installed runs $145 – $260. Elite intercom repairs range from $180 for a simple handset or microphone swap up to $320 when the base board or the underground wiring run needs to be replaced. The spread comes down to which Elite generation you have, whether we’re using OEM or aftermarket, and whether the old wiring is salvageable or we’re pulling a new low-voltage line through your conduit.
Every job includes the diagnostic time, the part itself, installation, programming the code or pairing the intercom to your existing opener, and testing the full open/close cycle twice before we call it done. The price you approve is the price on the invoice, period. And like every repair we do, this one carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the keypad or intercom fails within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. Written on every repair, never an upsell.
DIY or Call Us?
Keypads and intercoms run on low-voltage wiring, so this isn’t the same category as a high-tension spring that could seriously hurt you. The risk here is different: you can absolutely swap a keypad yourself and still end up with a dead keypad if you don’t match the Elite board revision or if the wiring has a short you can’t see. The fix looks simple until it’s not.
What you can safely check: whether the keypad has power at all (look for a small LED), whether the breaker for the opener is on, and whether water is getting into the keypad housing. What you shouldn’t do: pull apart the control board or rewire the intercom without knowing the pinout for your specific Elite model. A crossed low-voltage wire won’t shock you, but it can fry the board, and that turns a $200 keypad job into a $600 control board replacement fast. Call (725) 220-0280 and we’ll walk through what you’re seeing before anyone turns a wrench.
FAQs
Expect four to seven years from a keypad and five to eight from an intercom call station in our climate. The failure driver is UV exposure and summer heat, which cracks the plastic and dries out the membrane behind the buttons faster than you’d see in coastal California. We also stock parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls systems if you’ve got more than one gate on the property.
Sometimes, if the issue is corrosion on the contacts or a loose wire at the terminal block, we can clean and reseat those connections for around $90. But if the membrane or the PCB itself is cracked, there’s no meaningful repair path and a new keypad is the only fix that lasts. We’ll show you what we found before recommending either path.
Most Elite keypad replacements take 45 to 75 minutes on site. Intercom work runs longer, usually one to two hours, depending on whether we’re replacing just the call station or also pulling new wire. We schedule a tight arrival window with a live trackable time, so you’re not camping out by the driveway all afternoon.
Yes. We carry the common Elite keypad assemblies, microphones, speakers, and intercom call stations that cover most Las Vegas gate setups. For less common Elite board revisions we can usually source the part same day through our local supply network and install it the next morning at the latest.
